About us

Walk around any marina looking at the teak decks and what do you see? Most are deteriorating from the effects of sun, salt water and aging. Keeping a teak deck looking good is hard work, but now, at last, there is a real alternative!

Permateek is an environmentally friendly faux teak composite boat flooring that offers the qualities and good looks of teak but with none of the hassle. It is non-slip, wet or dry; offers low maintenance and looks like new teak season after season. Permateek teak flooring for boats is cost effective, stain resistant and simple to keep clean. With so many benefits, why would you fit anything else?

Hand Crafted

All Permateek decks are hand crafted from marine composite synthetic teak boards utilising traditional styles and designs. We have striven to achieve what we think is the ultimate in synthetic teak decking. A high degree of skill and expertise goes into each and every process of fabricating a custom-made Permateek deck.

We rarely use stock templates as we have found that no two boats are the same, even from the same manufacturer. All projects are individually patterned digitally or by hand to ensure a perfect fit. When fabricating deck panels, we do not simply glue them together – each seam is individually hand-welded to ensure it will not shrink or come apart. After assembly, we spend a great deal of time on each completed marine composite board undertaking our highly guarded secret system of hand finishing – just one of many reasons why a Permateek synthetic teak deck looks so authentic and so unlike a typical plastic deck.

Many of our satisfied customers profess that they would never have considered installing synthetic teak flooring before they discovered the convincing appearance of Permateek. When you choose Permateek, you can be assured that your project will be undertaken by a highly trained Permateek craftsman who is fully conversant with all aspects of deck making. To this end, we are increasing our efforts to open branches and appoint fitters all around the world in order to allow more people to enjoy the luxury of a Permateek deck.

The Right Decking Choice

Not all faux teak boat flooring is the same. Permateek marine decking is a very high quality product, made using only the finest quality virgin PVC materials. It is thermally welded, rather than glued, to form synthetic teak boards. Permateek is one of the only major synthetic teak decking companies to have resisted the temptation to add light-weight fillers. Because we have kept to our proven formula, our product is stronger and more hard-wearing. It will hold its colour and keep its grain longer and be more resistant to wear, tear, knocks and scratches. It will not fade, crack, warp or shrink in the elements, only requiring minimal maintenance (washing) to keep it looking good year after year.

The Benefits of Permateek

Synthetic Teak Decking and Heat

For those concerned about synthetic marine flooring and how hot they get in direct sunlight, the truth is all synthetic decks, just like real teak, will get hot. Permateek, in its original form, has always been among the cooler choices on offer and the lighter the deck colour you choose, the cooler it will be. That said, if it is a cool deck you require, you just can’t beat white Fibreglass. If, however, like thousands of others, you desire the good looks of a teak deck with all the benefits of a synthetic alternative, then Permateek is an obvious choice.

Permateek is unique, both as a company and as a product. Our decking is specifically designed and manufactured exclusively for our Permateek distributors. It is not sold in plank form to either trade or DIY installers. Permateek boat decking is only available through our own expert distributors, all of whom work to the same exacting, approved standards. It is our attention to detail which gives Permateek its unique and convincing appearance.
